Who: Works council members and other experts in the field of co-determination
The #Co-determinationCamp offers you the opportunity to network with other works council members, discuss exciting topics, and learn from each other. Our sessions will be moderated by experienced works council members and experts who will give a short presentation at the beginning – after which the focus will be on open discussion.
How the camp works:
Topics: In four parallel sessions, we will cover relevant topics for your work in employee representation. At the start of the Co-determination Camp, you choose a session that interests you.

Exercise your co-determination rights legally and efficiently
Data protection is more than just a legal obligation – it’s an essential component of responsible committee work. However, handling sensitive personal data presents particular challenges for works councils. This practical seminar shows you how to work in compliance with the GDPR, the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), and Section 79a of the German Works Constitution Act (BetrVG) – securely, efficiently, and with a sound legal basis.
You will learn which data protection obligations apply to works councils, how to avoid typical mistakes, and which technical and organizational measures are necessary. Using concrete examples and tried-and-tested templates, you will learn how to implement data protection securely and efficiently within the committee. From storing sensitive data to collaborating with the data protection officer.
Goal: As a works council member, you will gain confidence in handling personal data, identify data protection risks early on, and conduct your committee work confidently, legally, and on equal footing with the employer.

Know Your Rights – Actively Develop AI Works Agreements
Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the world of work – including in the works council office. Whether in personnel planning, performance evaluation, or recruitment: The use of AI raises many questions. What does artificial intelligence mean in concrete terms for the company? What are the consequences for employees? And how can the works council monitor and evaluate AI processes and exercise its co-determination rights regarding AI?
This practical AI training for works council members is aimed at those without prior AI knowledge and conveys the most important basics about AI in the workplace – including legal frameworks and co-determination rights when introducing AI in the company. The goal is to become proactive early on and to build AI expertise as a works council member. A special focus is placed on drafting works agreements and on the new mandatory training on AI topics, which has been in effect since February 2025.
Objective: You will learn how to use AI in the works council, critically examine processes, and responsibly support AI implementation together with the employer.
