Training
The complexity of works council activities has increased considerably in recent years. The works council is accountable to a workforce that demands consideration of a wide range of diverse expectations and interests. To address this complexity, strategic and modern public relations is an indispensable component of successful works council work. We offer training in this area in accordance with Section 37 (6) of the German Works Constitution Act (BetrVG).
The training begins with the fundamentals of communication and public relations. Subsequently, approaches to successful communication within the company, both with the workforce and with the employer, are discussed. Based on an analysis of existing forms of communication and public relations, topics, communication goals, and target groups are identified, and strategies for action are derived.
The stated goal is to communicate works council decisions to the workforce transparently and comprehensibly, to provide information on specific topics, and—where necessary—to raise awareness. This aims to ensure sustainable public relations for the works council. Upon request, we supplement the training with a “writing workshop” in which we work together on texts and teach the fundamentals of effective writing. Since negotiations between works councils and employers are a recurring issue, we supplement our communication and public relations training with negotiation training upon request. Assertive negotiation skills and strong argumentation are further keys to successful works council work. Using practical examples and exercises, we help develop individual communication and negotiation skills.
Expertise / Consulting
The complexity of works council activities has increased considerably in recent years. The works council is accountable to a workforce that demands consideration of a multitude of diverse expectations and interests. To address this complexity, strategic and modern public relations is an indispensable component of successful works council work. We support the works council as experts in accordance with Section 80 (3) of the German Works Constitution Act (BetrVG).
We typically act as experts for the “Public Relations Committee” or the “Works Committee.” Initially, a one-day training course provides the fundamentals of strategic and modern communication. This course focuses particularly on the starting points for successful public relations.
Subsequently, we provide ongoing support as experts, within a defined timeframe, to develop targeted, strategically aligned, and modern communication with the workforce in day-to-day operations.
Our work includes advising on the creation and maintenance of an editorial plan, writing texts and/or text modules, editing texts, regular participation in committee meetings, advising on the continuous review and, if necessary, adaptation of communication goals and messages, and developing and contributing ideas for publications.
The overall aim is to ensure sustainable BR communication.
